Beautiful Sky Wedding Photo

This beautiful sky wedding photo is the result of weather.  Have you ever heard the old saying rain is “good luck” on your wedding day?  In some cultures rain on your wedding day symbolizes fertility and cleansing.   I feel like that is mostly something people just say to comfort brides from it “ruining” their day.  In fact the majority of my best sunsets and skies have been the result of changing of weather.  As the change of weather happens, it introduces a break in cloud coverage.  This break in cloud coverage results in texture in the sky.  Think about this for just one second, in our everyday lives we require the ups and downs, or else life would be so very boring!  The same is with sunsets.  In sunsets you can have a typical blue faded to yellow sunset, which is great, but what really brings out the color, the vibrant crazy oranges, pinks and purples are due to the scattering of sunlight across dust, and soot particles as well as other solid and liquid aerosols in the Earths Atmosphere.  Interesting isn’t it?  Although this photo is not a sunset, you can still see how much texture I had in the clouds due to a slightly stormy day.  This is even more prevalent when things like fires are introduced in the country, volcanic emissions when I shoot destination weddings, and even dust storms.  So there it is, a few things that make the sky beautiful for wedding photos, or even for landscapes.

This snapshot was taken in a brief moment after the ceremony when everyone was relaxing.  We shot the wedding in the St. Paul/ Minneapolis area at the local Minneapolis Arboretum, which was an absolutely amazing venue to shoot.  I love bigger cities, so please, get in touch with me because I travel there all the time!
