Here’s a step-by-step look at what working with Boxcar feels like.
Step 1: Inquire + Connect
You reach out through our contact page or email, and we reply within 24–48 hours. From there, we’ll set up a call or Zoom (if you want!) to hear more about your vision, values, and what kind of experience you’re hoping for.
We don’t do hard sales. Just real conversation.
We’ll walk through packages, answer questions, and share how we can support the flow of your day.
Step 2: Booking & Welcome Guide
Once you’re ready, we’ll send over a contract and invoice to reserve your date. Once signed, you’ll receive a customized welcome guide with tips for planning, timeline structure, and preparing for portraits.
We’ll also get to know what matters most to you—whether it’s candid moments, family heirlooms, private vows, or that golden hour magic.
Step 3: Engagement Session (Optional but Recommended)
If you’ve booked a package with an engagement session, we’ll help you choose a location, time of day, and vibe that feels true to your relationship.
These sessions are relaxed, fun, and a great way for us to connect before the wedding day. They also help you feel more comfortable in front of the camera.

Step 4: Planning + Check-Ins
As your wedding day approaches, we’ll work together to:
Build your timeline
Finalize your shot list
Touch base about any meaningful details or logistics
Talk through light, portrait timing, and venue flow
We’ll also provide helpful links along the way:
If you have a planner, we’ll coordinate with them. If not, we’ll help build a structure that flows naturally and gives you room to breathe.
Step 5: The Wedding Day
We arrive early, ready and calm. Our presence is warm but unobtrusive. We’ll guide gently when needed and step back when it’s time to let the moment unfold.
We know how to read a room, when to give direction, and when to disappear into the crowd and document the realness.
Whether it’s a chaotic getting ready room, a windswept ceremony, or a sparkler exit at midnight—we’ve got it.

Step 6: Delivery
Within a few days, we’ll send a handful of preview images so you can relive the day while it’s still fresh. Full galleries are delivered within 4–8 weeks.
All images are edited with care, hosted in a private online gallery where you can download, share, and order prints.
If your package includes video, highlight reels are delivered alongside your photo gallery. Full ceremony or reception videos may be delivered via a private link or drive.
Step 7: Albums & Add-Ons (Optional)
We offer heirloom-quality albums designed collaboratively. You choose the images, we do the layout, and together we tell the story.
