Telluride CO – A year-round winter wonderland is the idea that comes to mind when trying to describe Telluride, CO. Buried deep in the mountains is this quaint little town that is completely surrounded by mountains on three sides and is like something straight from a Christmas story, except it actually exists. The weather was a fairytale-like thing to experience as well because of its unpredictability. One moment you were in a snowy wonderland—you almost felt as though you were inside a freshly shaken Snow Globe. Ten minutes later however, you would have rain to wash the snow away, and ten minutes after that, the sun would peek out from behind the clouds and dry all the wetness away. Being there was an all-around breath-taking experience. We made it there in their off-season; as it is a Ski-resort area and usually packed with tourists, we were thankful for making it there during a more quiet time. The locals there were very friendly and helpful which was awesome as we got to experience some amazing hikes that we may have otherwise missed out on. The downside to having been there on their off-season was that most of their restaurants were closed, however we still managed to find delicious food at some of their local-known gems. Telluride is absolutely one of those places that belongs on your bucket list and has something to offer anyone who loves the outdoors; be it hiking, skiing, or wondering around the mountains with your pet, it’s a great place to be.
