Located in Prairie du Chien, this venue blends historic architecture with natural beauty for couples who want a celebration that feels grounded, timeless, and full of story.

As a Wisconsin wedding photographer, I love Villa Louis because the light, the textures, and the river energy create a romantic atmosphere that doesn’t need anything added — it already feels like something out of a novel.

A Real-Feeling Wedding Story

Lauren and Joe had never dreamed of a ballroom wedding. “We wanted something that felt like history — like walking into another time,” Lauren said.

They held their ceremony beneath a massive oak tree on the property, with the mansion behind them and the river off to the left. Their reception took place in a tent near the garden, surrounded by vintage-inspired décor, handwritten signage, and the softest early fall breeze.

Portraits were a dream — through the halls of the estate, under the arches, and along the stone walkways just after sunset.
