Nestled on a hill just outside of town, Eau Claire Golf & Country Club offers a polished, private setting for couples who want a balance of tradition and natural beauty. From its sweeping river views to the timeless ballroom and pine-lined fairways, it’s a venue that lets the day unfold with ease and elegance.
As a Wisconsin wedding photographer, I love the way light moves across the course here — golden and clean in the evening, with open skies and calm wind. It’s the kind of place that holds a story without getting in the way of it.
A Real Story (But Not Really)
Rachel and Ethan met at UW-Eau Claire. He was pre-med. She was studying graphic design. They bonded over iced coffee and the fact that neither of them knew how to bowl — but kept trying anyway.
When Ethan proposed, they came back to Eau Claire for their wedding — choosing the Golf & Country Club because it felt like a peaceful return to where things began. Classic, calm, and just fancy enough for Rachel to wear cathedral-length veil without it feeling out of place.
Their day started slow — mimosas and Spotify playlists in the getting ready room. The ceremony took place on the back lawn, with a warm breeze coming up off the river. One of Ethan’s groomsmen teared up before either of them did.
After the ceremony, we snuck away in a golf cart to a quiet green on the east side of the course — just them, pine trees, and a patch of sun. That’s where we got the frame Rachel would later hang in her hallway.
Dinner was quiet, heartfelt. Toasts that landed. A hug from a grandparent that lingered. And as the sun dropped over the course, they danced to Ray LaMontagne with string lights overhead and cake on their cheeks.
