Winter Park – Winter Park Colorado is one of those tiny towns where – if you blink – you’ll miss it. If, however, you’re paying attention, this small town offers one of the most beautiful and scenic places that can be seen. We met with a small group of photographers and all got together to learn from, connect with, and relax with each other. All in all, it was a wonderful experience. The cabins that we stayed in offered a view that overlooked mountains for as far as the eye could see. In close proximity, were an abundance of other large and exquisite cabins and homes that made for a great neighborhood. Not far from this tiny and cute town were some other small towns; all which offered something different. During our stay we drove 45 minutes to Lake Grandby and satiated our desire to see a body of water in the mountainous terrain. Another 30 or so minute drive took us to a very short quarter-mile hiking trail that lead to a waterfall. With that we saw a host of wildlife; there was a fox that was very used to people and came within a couple of short feet from us. Most exciting, however, was the very big adolescent Moose that walked out of the woods only 50 yards away. As scary as it was at first, we got to take in the majesty of that once-in-a-lifetime moment. The whole trip was an awesome experience that won’t soon be forgotten; it offered everything from learning opportunities, to mini-adventures, to beautiful wildlife, to meeting some wonderful people. If you are every in Colorado and looking for somewhere to hide away for awhile, Winter Park is one of those hidden gems that should be enjoyed by all.
