Faith, Friendship, and a Little Bohemian Rhapsody
Some weddings feel like a celebration of everything that brought a couple together—and this one, held at Living Word Christian Church with a reception at the La Crosse Center Ballroom, was exactly that.
Aaron and I had known each other for years. We grew up in the same church and crossed paths countless times before anything romantic sparked. He pursued me for almost two years—patiently and persistently—and finally, in June 2016, we began dating. Not long after, we started looking at rings.
The Proposal: Roses, Lights, and a Bridge
In January 2017, Aaron surprised me with a proposal that felt like it was out of a movie. He left a trail of roses in a small-town park, leading to a bridge strung with twinkle lights. There, at the end of the trail, he was waiting. He got down on one knee and asked me to be his wife. I said yes—of course!
Wedding Morning: Calm, Laughter, and Friendship
The day of the wedding was surprisingly calm. We spent the morning surrounded by friends and family, getting breakfast and enjoying the anticipation.
One of my favorite images is from that time: me and my bridesmaids in a brick alleyway, laughing and smiling. It’s a beautiful picture that captures the energy of that moment and the closeness we share.
A First Look Full of Emotion
Aaron and I did a first look before the ceremony, and I’ll never forget that moment. The photo of us just staring at each other says it all—genuine love, excitement, and awe. It felt like we were the only two people in the world.
We took our group photos at the church in the afternoon, surrounded by the people who helped bring our wedding together. It was touching to feel so supported and loved by our family, friends, and church community.
Ceremony + Reception at the La Crosse Center Ballroom
After our vows, I remember turning around to see a room full of smiling, happy faces. That was the moment it really sank in—we did it. I had just married my best friend, and every face was beaming back at us with love.
I had been waiting all day for the kiss. The second our pastor said, “You may now kiss your bride,” I couldn’t hold it in—I kissed him and practically did a happy dance on the spot.
The celebration continued at the La Crosse Center Ballroom, a beautiful venue right in the heart of downtown. Spacious, light-filled, and full of energy—it was the perfect space for us to bring everyone together.
And yes… we absolutely sang “Bohemian Rhapsody.” It’s a family tradition that had to live on!
Thank You to Our People
We especially want to thank Joyce Todd, who did an incredible job designing our wedding website, RSVP forms, invitations, programs, and thank-you cards. She was professional, affordable, and helped bring our vision to life.
We give all the glory to God for this story—and we’re so grateful for every person who helped make our day so joyful and full of meaning.
