Planning a Cabin Wedding in Wisconsin? Here’s What to Know:

  • Permits: Some counties require permits for weddings on private land. Always double-check.
  • Vendors: Many of these venues let you bring in your own team. Hire professionals familiar with travel setups and outdoor weddings.
  • Parking: If you’re hosting more than 20–30 guests, think about overflow parking or shuttles.
  • Bathrooms: Some cabins only have 1–2 bathrooms. Consider renting a luxury restroom trailer for events.
  • Weather: Always have a rain plan. Think tents, covered porches, or flexible indoor space.

How many guests can you host at a cabin wedding?

Most cabin venues sleep between 12 and 30 guests, with room to host 40–150 depending on the outdoor space and parking.

Are cabin weddings only for elopements?

Not at all. They’re great for full weekend weddings with family and friends. You just may need to supplement lodging nearby.

Do I need a planner?

It’s helpful—especially for weekend coordination, vendor setup, and guest logistics. Some venues may require one.

Can we bring our own caterer or do we cook?

Most of these rentals let you bring in your own caterer, food truck, or private chef. Some couples choose to grill, potluck, or do DIY meals too.
