Set on the shores of a quiet Northwoods lake, Chippewa Retreat Resort offers a peaceful, upscale setting for couples who want a wedding that feels like a getaway — without sacrificing comfort or style. With lakeside ceremony options, elegant indoor spaces, and on-site cabins, this venue is perfect for weekend weddings where connection and nature come first.
As a Wisconsin wedding photographer, I love Chippewa Retreat for its stillness — the way the water holds light, the way guests settle in, the way the day feels unrushed from start to finish.
A Real-Feeling Wedding Story
Morgan and Jake grew up going “up north” every summer. So when it came time to plan their wedding, the resort setting of Chippewa Retreat just made sense. “It was everything we loved growing up — but grown-up and elevated,” Jake said.
They hosted their ceremony by the water, under tall pines with chairs facing the lake. Guests stayed in cabins for the weekend, enjoying paddleboards and bonfires before and after the big day.
Dinner and dancing took place in the Lakeside Lodge, with warm wood interiors, big windows, and a dance floor that stayed full late into the night.
