Perrot State Park Wedding

Postcards from The Edge of Love at Perrot State Park by Boxcar Photography

The best thing about doing wedding photography in Wisconsin is the variety of locations which can truly reflect a couple, their love, and their lifestyle. Gone are the days of hot studio lights crammed into a Church basement while people sipped coffee and snacked on cookies. No longer held captive by aisles or even four walls, just a short distance from La Crosse is a wide-open space with stunning views, walking trails and dense forest terrain.

Love is often an adventure steeped in mystery and sprinkled with comedy; we never know what’s around the corner, but we look for humor and good times to carry us through. Walking along the bluffs or the water’s edge at Perrot State Park is much like that and lends itself perfectly to my style of candid documentary and formal portraiture at Boxcar Photography. We can capture your connection, your laughter, and your love as you start the very beginning of this journey to marriage. Whether it’s your engagement session, your secret-hike-a-way elopement, or an organized ceremony and reception for your family and friends, there’s no end of effortlessly creative ways to record your bond enveloped in the natural beauty of Wisconsin,

When you rent a small band of canoes at Trempealeau River, you can float along as the sun sets, or enjoying the warm summer sun. Throwing caution to the wind and just relaxing together is a unique way to spend your wedding day, however it sounds like bliss to me.

At Perrot State Park you and your small party can hike to a favorite spot, say your “I do’s” cloaked in a shelter of foliage and green. The best part is you can utilize this amazing public space without reservations. It’s proven to be a popular space for elopements and smaller weddings nestled in favorite spots around the hillside. Your acoustic music will echo through the park, surrounding your guests as nature becomes the church you say your vows in.

However, if your dream is a larger scale event in this remarkable park, they have several rental options available to you. Couples have a choice of renting different forest shelters and even the amphitheater. You can bring in arches, linens, and the usual ceremony and reception décor.

A postcard of love, that’s what your wedding photos will be after holding your event at Perrot State Park. From old stone buildings to gorgeous vistas, massive cliffs, beautiful hillsides, and the reflective water of the Trempealeau River, your every moment will be captured as though a postcard sent from the edge of love and happiness.  Let’s grab our hiking boots, picnic blankets, free spirits, and set off together.
