There’s a quiet kind of love that doesn’t need a stage.
Tim and Jen’s May wedding at Justin Trails in Sparta, Wisconsin, was one of those celebrations—tender, grounded, and fully rooted in what mattered most to them: each other and their children. No fanfare. No multi-hour agenda. Just a simple ceremony, meaningful moments with family, and a desire to be present.
They knew they didn’t need a ten-hour day or a two-shooter team. What they wanted was someone who could hold space for their story as it unfolded. Someone calm, steady, and intuitive. That’s where Brad came in.
A Weekend Elopement at Justin Trails
Justin Trails is no stranger to rustic elegance and larger weddings—but this time, the venue played host to something quieter. An indoor ceremony was planned after the skies hinted at rain, and the soft, overcast light gave the entire day a relaxed, reflective feel.
Tim and Jen chose to marry in the late afternoon, with our coverage spanning roughly 4 to 6 p.m. Their focus was clear from the beginning: beautiful, heartfelt photos with their children, and a few gentle candids afterward as everyone mingled.
It was an intimate gathering—so intimate, in fact, that a camper was set up for a few guests to visit and stay nearby. The day had a warm, DIY energy to it. Tim and his sons helped break down the ceremony speakers when everything wrapped up. Earlier in the day, he was tying ties and helping the boys get ready. These weren’t just wedding tasks—they were deeply human moments, and Brad was ready to capture them all.
Simplicity Over Spectacle
There’s a growing trend we’re proud to support: couples who don’t want a full-scale production. Couples who aren’t interested in a social media frenzy or a dozen posed locations. Couples like Tim and Jen, who simply want to say “I do” and honor their connection without distraction.
And we believe those couples deserve just as much artistry and care as anyone planning a luxury wedding. That’s why we offer tiered associate packages—with real experience behind them, not just a label.
Brad: A Quiet Eye for Meaningful Moments
Brad has been with us since 2021. From day one, his natural calm and unshakable presence stood out. Over the years, he’s grown into an incredibly reliable artist—someone who doesn’t just shoot, but who sees.
While Brad prefers to stay out of the spotlight, his work speaks volumes. For Tim and Jen, he facilitated easy, thoughtful family portraits. Jen had a vision for switching up backgrounds and exploring a few different parts of the venue, and Brad adapted on the fly—offering guidance while making sure they still felt completely at ease.
He stayed a little longer to catch some casual mingling after the ceremony. It wasn’t rushed, it wasn’t forced—it was exactly what the couple needed.
There was one especially quiet moment we’ll never forget: the way Tim and Jen embraced after the ceremony. It wasn’t staged or orchestrated. Just a pause. A breath. A knowing.
Brad caught it perfectly.
Choosing the Right Photographer for You
When Tim and Jen first reached out, we talked about what kind of coverage would make sense. My own packages, built for full-day weddings, just didn’t fit their vision. But our Junior Associate option? That fit like a glove.
Too often, photography feels like an upsell: more hours, more shooters, more everything. But we’re not here to sell you the biggest package—we’re here to help you find the right fit.
That’s why we offer three tiers of coverage:
- Junior Associate (3–5 years of experience)
- Master Associate (5–15 years of experience)
- Lead Photographer (Me) for those who want a higher-touch, full-scale experience
What makes these tiers work is the mentorship behind them. Brad, like every associate on our team, was trained and guided by me personally. He learned how to anticipate needs, read energy, adapt calmly, and deliver a full gallery with professionalism and heart.
When you hire a Junior Associate, you’re not getting someone who’s “learning on the job”—you’re getting someone who’s already proven they can do this with consistency and grace.
Why This Wedding Matters
In a sea of Pinterest boards and wedding checklists, Tim and Jen remind us of something important: love doesn’t have to be loud to be powerful.
They didn’t plan a massive reception. They didn’t spend hours on portraits. They didn’t center the day around details. They centered it around connection.
And because they found a photographer who could meet them exactly where they were—without pressure, without upsells—they got to experience their wedding on their own terms.
Thinking of Planning Something Small?
If you’re dreaming of a wedding that feels like you—whether that means just the two of you, a few guests, or your kids by your side—we’d be honored to help guide you to the right fit.
Not every story needs a full-day production. But every story deserves to be told with care.
