Costa Rica wedding sunset
There is a lot that to be said about a costa rica wedding sunset. This couple was absolutely amazing. They were more than hospitable while flying me out to their destination wedding at Riu Guanacaste in Costa Rica. This was done years back, and was my first ever destination wedding. I was so eager to shoot I asked the bride and groom to go out every sunset to take pictures. The funny thing is that every night their response was to go relax, put the camera away and enjoy the time there. It really was a challenge for me at the time, I ended up sleeping most days (which I found much needed) whether in my room, by the pool or on the beach. I had an amazing time relaxing, which is something I am not use to as I at the time I was working full time, as well as shooting 18 weddings that year and going to school full time for my undergrad degree. I took a lot of notes when reading books I brought and seemed to have grown a lot in that short week I was there. This an eye opening moment for me. I did a lot of thinking. I read a book called Greater by Steven Furtick. It was an amazing book, and a life experience. Steven talked about starting small with a vision of big. It was encouraging as I was just starting out as an International Photographer. I had no clue where life would take me. I didn’t know what would happen in the next few years. Since then I have been blessed to see so many different places. Ive been to Kauai, Hawaii; Stockholm, Sweden; Sydney, Austrailia; and Queenstown, New Zealand. Those are just a few among many that I visited and expressed my photography skills for clients. It was a year or foundation, and a trip where I would make my foundation. I am so thankful that my clients were not pushing me to take pictures every night like I wanted. With that extra down time I was able to refocus and for that I cannot thank my clients more.
